Egalitarianism and the drive for equality

Typically, when discussing the concept of egalitarianism in society, there are many who do not hesitate to argue that our modern society has equal treatment displayed frequently and equality has been driven down to a system. However, within the egalitarianism lecture, there were clear examples of how equality is not always in a person's grasp. Just being able to discuss the methods in which multiple individuals, almost on a daily basis, are oppressed in a most ruinous manner. Methods of oppression can be seen in things that, from an uninvolved perspective, are quite normal behavior. Viewing oppression in instances such as common neglect, poverty, or violence would at one time or another be viewed as a regular sight in society. Forms of oppression can be tremendously great in variation. However, for one to be an individual that professes the act of caring for others truly, one must be able to have the gall to call out instances of oppression and spread the idea of egalitarianism, giving everybody the equality they deserve.
